The short version. OPTIMIZE MD sends SMS text messages only to people who ask for them by checking the SMS consent box on our contact form. Messages may be sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to cancel. Reply HELP for help, or email concierge@askhealthmi.com. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase and is never required to book a consultation or receive care. Do not send health information by text message.
1. About these terms
These SMS Terms and Conditions (the “SMS Terms”) govern the OPTIMIZE MD text messaging program (the “Program”). The Program is operated by [TO CONFIRM: legal entity name], which does business as OPTIMIZE MD by Ask Health (“OPTIMIZE MD,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By checking the optional SMS consent box on the OPTIMIZE MD contact form and submitting a mobile phone number, you agree to these SMS Terms. If you do not agree, do not check the box. You can still contact us, book a consultation, and receive care without it.
These SMS Terms are in addition to our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If there is a direct conflict between these SMS Terms and the Terms of Service on a question about text messaging, these SMS Terms control for that question.
2. Program name and description
The Program name is OPTIMIZE MD. It is a conversational and transactional messaging program for prospective and current patients of OPTIMIZE MD.
If you opt in, we may send text messages that include:
- Consultation scheduling. Coordinating a time for a consultation or visit, sending scheduling links, and following up on a consultation request you submitted.
- Appointment confirmations. Confirming a scheduled consultation, visit, or follow-up.
- Reminders. Reminding you of an upcoming appointment, or of preparation steps such as arriving early or completing intake paperwork.
- Concierge support. Answering general questions about scheduling, location, and programs, and following up on an open request.
Messages are sent from a standard ten-digit long code registered for application-to-person messaging in the United States: [TO CONFIRM: sending phone number]. We use a third-party messaging provider to deliver messages on our behalf. We do not use the Program to send unrelated promotional blasts, and we do not send messages to mobile numbers that have not opted in.

3. How to opt in
You opt in by taking two steps on the OPTIMIZE MD contact form:
- Entering your mobile phone number in the phone field.
- Checking the optional SMS consent box, which reads: “I agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from OPTIMIZE MD at the mobile number provided. Messages may include consultation scheduling, appointment confirmations, reminders, and concierge support. Messages may be sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. View our SMS Terms, Privacy Policy & Terms of Service.”
The consent box is unchecked by default. Checking it is entirely your choice.
Messages may be sent using automated technology. By checking the box, you agree that OPTIMIZE MD and the messaging provider acting on our behalf may send text messages to the mobile number you provide using an automatic telephone dialing system or other automated technology.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. You are not required to agree to receive text messages in order to book a consultation, enroll in a program, purchase any service, or receive care. If you would rather not receive texts, leave the box unchecked and we will contact you by email or phone instead.
Checking the box on the contact form is the only way to opt in. We will not text a mobile number that has not been submitted through that form. Opt-in is affirmative and specific to the mobile number you provide.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies. The number of messages you receive depends on how you interact with us. Scheduling a consultation may involve a short exchange of messages over a day or two, and each appointment may generate a confirmation and a reminder. We do not send messages on a fixed recurring schedule.
5. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. OPTIMIZE MD does not charge you for participating in the Program, but your mobile carrier may charge you for each message sent or received, and data charges may apply. You are responsible for all charges from your mobile carrier that result from your participation.
If you change your mobile number or cancel your mobile service, please let us know so we do not send messages to a number that is no longer yours.
6. How to opt out
You can cancel at any time. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. We also honor END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT.
After you send an opt-out keyword, we will send one final confirmation message letting you know that you have been unsubscribed and that no further messages will be sent to that number. After that, you will not receive any additional text messages from the Program unless you opt in again.
Opting out of text messages does not opt you out of email or phone contact, and it does not cancel an appointment or a program. To change your email preferences, follow the unsubscribe instructions in any email or write to concierge@askhealthmi.com.
Opting back in
You can rejoin the Program by replying START or UNSTOP from the same mobile number, or by submitting the OPTIMIZE MD contact form again with the consent box checked.
7. How to get help
Reply HELP or INFO to any message and we will reply with the Program name and our contact information. You can also email concierge@askhealthmi.com or call (313) 000-0000.
Text messaging is not for emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not use text messages to report symptoms or urgent medical concerns. Replies may not be immediate.
8. Supported carriers and message delivery
The Program is available on most major United States wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Metro by T-Mobile, and Google Voice, as well as many smaller and regional carriers. Carrier support can change without notice.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. OPTIMIZE MD does not guarantee that any message will be delivered, delivered on time, or delivered without error.
The Program is intended for recipients with United States mobile numbers. We do not support international messaging.
9. Eligibility
To take part in the Program you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be the subscriber of the mobile number you provide, or be authorized by the subscriber to enroll that number.
- Use a mobile number capable of receiving SMS text messages.
If you enroll a number in error, or receive Program messages at a number you did not enroll, reply STOP or contact concierge@askhealthmi.com and we will remove the number.
10. No health information by text message
Never text health information to OPTIMIZE MD. The Program is for scheduling and general concierge communication only. Do not send symptoms, diagnoses, medications, lab results, images, insurance details, or any other health information by text message.
Text messaging is not a secure channel. Messages pass through carrier networks and are stored on devices in ways neither you nor OPTIMIZE MD controls. Our text messages will not include your diagnoses, test results, or treatment details. Clinical questions are handled during your visit or through a secure channel your care team provides [TO CONFIRM: secure patient portal or messaging tool]. If you send health information by text anyway, we will ask you to stop and continue the conversation through a secure channel.
11. Privacy
Our handling of the information you submit through the contact form, including your mobile number, is described in our Privacy Policy. Two points are worth stating directly:
- We do not sell or rent your mobile number. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties for marketing under any circumstances.
- We share your number only to run the Program. We share it with the messaging provider and telecommunications vendors that deliver messages for us, and only so they can deliver those messages, plus any disclosure required by law.
We keep a record of your consent, your opt-in and opt-out history, and the messages exchanged, which we use to operate the Program and show compliance with applicable law.
12. Acceptable use
When you participate in the Program you agree that you will not:
- Send health information or other sensitive personal information by text, as described in Section 10.
- Enroll a mobile number you are not authorized to enroll.
- Send unlawful, harassing, abusive, or fraudulent content.
We may suspend or end your participation in the Program at any time, including if these SMS Terms are violated.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Program is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OPTIMIZE MD is not liable for damages arising from delayed, undelivered, misdirected, or intercepted messages, from carrier charges, or from your decision to send information by text. The limitations of liability in our Terms of Service apply to the Program. These SMS Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
14. Changes to the Program and to these terms
We may change, suspend, or end the Program, or update these SMS Terms, at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by text or email before it takes effect. Continuing to participate after an update means you accept the updated SMS Terms. If you do not, reply STOP to cancel.
